What is trandgender?
Transgender is an adjective not a noun.
A person can't be "transgendered" and no one is a "transgender". There are transgender students/males/females/etc.
There is no ONE right way to be transgender.

What can you do to help?
Start here.
Give yourself time, but not excuses.
If the idea of more than two genders is new to you, it will take time to understand. Do your very best to call people by their preferred name, pronouns, and label. Always. Even when they're not around.
Support your fellow students.
If you notice bullying of any kind, report it immediately. Don't wait. Don't be afraid to stand up for what's right.
Take a healthy selfie and pledge your support to the LGBT community and all extraordinary individuals by telling us what makes you unique.
